The Field Operator Program

The job of field operator, both upstream and downstream, is a technical and demanding one. It involves:

• monitoring and managing industrial facilities,
• organizing and carrying out operations in accordance with operating procedures and available plans,
• coordinating on-site maintenance work,
• responding appropriately in the event of abnormal or dangerous situations,
• implementing appropriate prevention and intervention measures to minimize risks,
• exchanging regular and accurate technical information,
• checking the condition and availability of their personal protective equipment (PPE) and collective communication equipment before each shift,

The course is aimed at both young recruits and experienced operators looking to upgrade their skills. The objective is to improve the availability of facilities by ensuring a very high level of safety.

It combines theoretical sessions and practical sessions delivered by experienced trainers:

• classroom courses,
• OJO (On-the-Job Orientation): transposition of courses on site to acquire practical knowledge of site equipment and familiarize oneself with the activities of an operator. OJO can be carried out on the technical platform of training centers or at the future assignment site,
• OJT (On the Job Training): practical application on site to acquire specific knowledge (processes, instrumentation, operational risks) and perform the tasks of your future position under the supervision of a mentor,

This program leads to the award of an IFP Training Certificate at the “Vocational Certificate” level, which validates the knowledge and skills acquired during the training.

The Console Operator Program

The console operator plays a strategic role in the proactive and safe operation of well and surface equipment, both upstream and downstream. To carry out their duties, they must:

• operate and monitor process control loops, safety logic, and automated sequences,
• anticipate unit behavior and stabilize deviations,
• analyze and respond methodically to anomalies, incidents, and emergency situations, and implement crisis management procedures,
• communicate effectively with field personnel and take readings correctly.

Led in person by an experienced trainer, the Console Operator Course alternates between theoretical input and real-life case studies on a simulator over a period of seven weeks.

At the end of this professional training course, employees will have acquired the fundamentals of process control and optimization and safe equipment operation.

This program leads to the award of an IFP Training Certificate at the “Vocational Certificate” level, which validates the knowledge and skills acquired during the training.

Surface Operations Course for Production Supervisors

This course aims to train future managers of teams of operators and console operators, both upstream and downstream. Thanks to this training, these supervisors will be able to:

• master the principles and techniques of field operations,
• be familiar with the static and dynamic equipment present on the units,
• anticipate and analyze any deviations.

This 9-week program alternates between theoretical instruction and real-world case studies using a simulator to address and resolve operational issues.

It allows the acquisition of solid technical and scientific knowledge, such as:

• wellhead and completion equipment,
• different types of well production,
• effluent treatment and related specifications,
• gas dehydration and treatment,
• static equipment, its metallurgy, and corrosion phenomena,
• risks associated with equipment and products, field operations, and production,
• basic chemistry and behavior of hydrocarbons (HC),
• metering,
• the principle of fluid flow.

This program leads to the award of an IFP Training Certificate at the “Vocational Certificate” level, which validates the knowledge and skills acquired during the training.
