The use of simulators allows participants to analyze real-world situations outside their usual environment and subsequently apply this knowledge in their actual work.

These simulators offer unmatched training effectiveness: the training conditions mirror exactly the control room interfaces used daily by operators and technicians.
Similarly, the dedicated instructor interfaces provide them with an ideal interactive teaching environment.
How do you open a valve? How do you interpret the reading from a field measurement instrument? How do you manage a local control panel? The simulators are also used to deepen understanding of the dynamic behavior of an item of equipment or an entire process unit, with the objective of optimizing its operation.
Take, for example, technicians involved in the control or maintenance of furnaces or compressors. To enable them to replicate in their own environment the procedures and best practices acquired during training, our trainers accompany and supervise trainees in the field, with the operator’s authorization. This allows for immediate and practical application.

Our dynamic simulators (Basic Learning Mode) enable real-world scenarios on equipment or units (used in refining, petrochemicals, and EP, among others), including:
The binary column (DCU—Debutanizer or Depropanizer)
- Understand the fundamentals of a distillation column,
- Grasp the concept of the cut-off point and product quality management,
- Distinguish how a column responds to a change, depending on the control schemes it is equipped with,
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical or operational issues/troubleshooting.
The multiple-draw-off column (CDU—Atmospheric column / Multiple draw-off column)
- understand the various components and operating parameters of a multiple-draw-off distillation column,
- understand the adjustment of cut points and the parameters influencing product quality,
- identify, diagnose, and resolve a technical or operational problem/troubleshooting.
The forced-draft furnace (CDU-Atmospheric furnace / Hot Oil Furnace)
- understand the basic principles of the furnace to achieve proper combustion (draft, excess air),
- learn the principles of forced draft with a preheater,
- understand the burner control system,
- troubleshooting.
The centrifugal compressor (CCR-H2 Booster compressor / Centrifugal compressor)
- discover the basic principles of compression control,
- understand the roles of the cooling system and the lubricating oil,
- Identify how the compressor behaves under different supply conditions,
- understand bearing temperature and vibration,
- select the appropriate operating conditions for optimal machine performance, in both steady-state and transient phases,
- troubleshooting.
The positive displacement compressor (DHC-Makeup H2 Compressor)
- learn the basics of compression control,
- understand the roles of the cooling system and lubricating oil,
- understand the compressor’s behavior under operating conditions, in both steady-state and transient phases,
- troubleshooting.
The centrifugal pump
- understand the pump’s behavior,
- select the appropriate operating conditions for optimal machine performance, in both steady-state and transient phases,

The control loops (Control Loop – new/ Instrumentation & Process Control)
- understand the different control loops,
- know the PID settings (Proportional – Integral – Derivative),
- understand the the EDD logic (Detailed Control Study).
The hydrodesulfurization Unit (Hydrotreatment Processes – HDS Unit)
- understand how a unit responds to changes in operating conditions,
- troubleshooting.
The amine Unit (Amine Recovery Unit – ARU)
- understanding a unit’s response to changes in operating conditions,
- troubleshooting.
The sulfur recovery unit (SRU)
- understanding a unit’s response to changes in operating conditions,

The reservoir simulator (Upstream Integrated Simulator - CLOV)
- gain in-depth experience with the upstream integrated simulator,
- use DCS (Distributed Control System) tools to ensure safe operation,
- analyze and anticipate to address deviations and prevent alarms,
- learn how to diagnose and respond to process disturbances.
